Our Achival Prints and Inks
Archival, when used in printmaking is a relative term that refers to the ability of the substrate and colorants to endure time without
deteriorating.
All the materials used in the limited editions on canvas sold at LylesArtGallery.com are the most archival possible and utilize the
best raw materials available. The canvas is produced by Breathing Color, the undisputed world leader in archival canvas and coatings.
The canvas is PH neutral, contains no optical brighteners and no artificial whitening Fluorescent agents, all of which can cause
premature color fading, yellowing or cracking.
The inks used in printing the fine art giclées are pigment based (rather than dye based non archival inks) Our pigment inks contain
particles of color that are encapsulated in a polymer coating that acts as a UV protective barrier. After the fine art print is
created, an additional layer of compatible clear polymer, formulated
for the atelier (print studio) in France, is added to further
increase UV protection
increase UV protection as well as surface durability.
