Certificate of Authenticity

A Certificate of Authenticity is a document issued by the publisher of a limited edition that details various aspects of a limited edition print. Included details among others, but not limited to the following, can include, but are not exclusively mandated; except for those disclosures made to assist the purchaser in determining the rarity of the print:

• Its rarity by listing all the subsets of the edition such as the number of regular exemplars, the number of artist proofs, and the
number of printer proofs that will be issued in a stated medium. A total of the entire amount of prints to be issued.

• The medium the prints are created on (for example, canvas)

• Details of the various sizes the edition is created in.

• The date of issue - or Copyright date.

• The publisher

• The disposition, name and size of the original painting (or plates) upon which the limited edition is based.

• The edition number of the specific exemplar the certificate is being issued for.

• The atelier or print studio employed by the publisher to create the edition.

• A disclaimer that the artist and published have other reproduction rights on the same or different media, including all digital
ownerships rights.
